Poisonous House and Garden Plants

Below is a list of some of the more common poisonous plants we tend to have around us. Some are decorative, some grow wild and some have BOTH edible and poisonous parts! I’ve learned recently that the toxicity of many common plants isn’t exactly common knowledge; so please spend a little time reading this to get hip, Mamas, and avoid a hospital trip (or worse). Any plants in which the leaves, branches, flowers or berries are poisonous are best left unplanted when small children or pets are present. Curious hands and mouths often have a way of finding what they shouldn’t– and who can blame them? Many of these species are quite beautiful, colorful and tempting! Underground stems, bulbs or root systems are not as threatening; but don’t plant them in shared proximity to your vegetable garden. Read more of this post
